About Us

A little bit of history

The Den Studios is a small family run business and started life as a practice room in a garage wired through the roof into a first floor bedroom of a family home.

In 2001 upon leaving college we took the huge step of setting up commercially and started looking for a business premises in which to set up the studio,

After a year of being turned down for a number of local properties in and around Dudley town centre we acquired an old factory unit on an industrial estate on Shaw Road, Dudley.

The Den Studios officially opened the doors for business in June 2002 with a single rehearsal room situated downstairs.

The upstairs was still open plan with an open ceiling, Over the next 12 months we upgraded our studio downstairs with a control room & vocals booth then a 24 track hardware recording rig.

We then set to work building our 2nd rehearsal room upstairs, as well as a purpose built lounge, kitchen & seating area and a shop in one of the empty rooms.

This all took about 2 years to complete and in summer of 2005 we installed air conditioning in our 2 rehearsal studios, as well as the recording studio.

To celebrate our 5th Birthday we gave our whole facility a complete facelift, starting with the building of a massive new internal control room, drum booth and a brand new recording setup, making our facility one of the best equipped in the midlands.

All of the profits made by the Den Studios are invested straight back into the business on new recording equipment and maintaining or replacing rehearsal equipment. We do it for the love of music, not the money.

Our work ethic is simply, if it needs doing, do it.. as fast as possible whilst accepting no compromise on quality.

We take great pride in our recording work, as our clients quickly find out and believe that a studio is only as good as the music it produces.. no matter how good their equipment is.
