Vocal Tip....

When tracking vocals a very common technique is to remove one headphone slightly so that the vocalist can hear the direct sound of their voice, as well as the music via the remaining headphone speaker. This can make a vocalist feel much more comfortable and less "pitchy"

Karaoke Style Recording

Recording Vocals To Backing Track.

We do lots of "Karaoke" style recording which is the voice recorded and mixed with a pre-recorded karaoke backing track.

We use our studio equipment to record your voice in exactly the same way as we record our original artists and mix it in exactly the same way too.

We provide recordings for actors, musical theatre performers, club singers and hobbyists alike.

Our charge for this service is simple too, its simply £25 per song.

We have an extensive backing track collection, totalling over 15,000 songs at last count which are free to use, we'll even email them over to you in advance so that you can practice to them before you come in to record.

You are more than welcome to bring your own backing tracks with you to record over the top of, this has the advantage of you being able to find it in the key that is right for you.

Tracks on CD (standard 16bit, 44.1khz) are the preferred media, as MP3 encoding to reduce the size file size also has a degrading effect to the audio material.

If you are downloading or converting tracks to MP3 before they come into us we ask that you convert them to the a stereo bit rate of 192k minimum, if you are unsure about how to do this get in touch, we can help. The lower bit rates such as 128k which is the standard for internet use can cause unwanted digital artifacts to appear within the tracks and make high frequency instruments such as cymbals sound washy and weird.

Downloading tracks then burning them to CD doesn’t correct this as once music has been re-encoded at a lower bit rate the damage is already done
